Dream No Little Dreams Conference Spaces All Filled Up!
November 16, 2011
Next weeks' conference, co-hosted by the YWCA of Calgary and the Action to End Poverty in Alberta initiative, organized to build momentum for coordinated action to end poverty in Alberta - to create a poverty-free future in our province - is now fully registered with 120 people attending. Paricipants found out about the "learning commons" from direct electronic postings via AEPA network supporters.
Speakers include Tony Martin, formerly MP for Sault Saint Marie, Ontario; John Kolkman from the Edmonton Social Planning Council; Alexa Briggs and Celia Lee from Vibrant Communities Calgary; Dr. John Rook, Chairman of the National Council on Welfare; representatives of 4 cross-sectoral poverty reduction roundtables in Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Calgary will also present; also participating in the wrap up panel will be Councilor Ben Henderson, Chairperson of the Inter-City Forum on Social Policy.
Watch this space for after conference reports.
